In this episode of in the field, we are talking to Sha’Von Terrell, the Deputy Director of the Black Church Food Security Network which works to create community-owned food systems anchored by historically African American congregations. They do this by partnering with Black farmers and urban growers to create pipelines for fresh produce. Sha’Von shares some of the history of the network and its current initiatives.
